The IRC Race 1 Division at the Rolex China Sea Race 2026 promises to be one of the most intriguing line‑ups in recent years, with an impressive group of first‑time entrants joining seasoned competitors for the 565nm challenge from Hong Kong to Subic Bay.

Leading the charge of newcomers is Hugues de Saint Germain, regatta chairman, on board his A40RC Ocean’s Five, fresh from a strong second‑overall finish in the 2025 Hong Kong to Hainan Race. All eyes will be on how he translates that recent success into a strong China Sea Race debut.

Also joining the starting line-up for their first Rolex China Sea Race appearance are three more exciting entries:

Olivier Decamps’ Swan 45 Mazu – The Swan 45 brings with her a wealth of racing experience onboard, while her steadfast design is synonymous with classic offshore races.

Tiger Mok’s Sun Fast 3600 2 Easy – Entered as the sole single-handed, marks the first-ever solo campaign in the history of the Rolex China Sea Race. Mok is one of Hong Kong’s most accomplished offshore sailors  and looks forward to this new challenge solo.

Glenn Smith’s Grand Soleil Wildcard – A competitive and versatile racer‑cruiser makes its divisional debut in 2026, ready to test itself against both carbon flyers and established offshore contenders.

Johnson Yuen returns to the race with his Summit 40 Zoe’s Guard. Known for its strong upwind characteristics, Zoe’s Guard will join these ambitious debutants.

Also joining IRC Racer 1 division will be three double-handed entries:  Philippe Grelon’s Sun Odyssey 47 Tuatahi, Henning Mueller's Sun Fast 3600 Zesst and Andew Pidden’s J99 Juice .

With a mix of returning talent, first-time campaigners, and boats with proven offshore experience, the 2026 IRC Race 1 Division is set to deliver tight competition and diverse tactical battles across one of Asia’s most iconic offshore racetracks.
