Maans van Niekerk - Email / Phone +2782 7389 729

Hi I'm Maans van Niekerk (39)from South Africa. I sailed basically all the South African offshore events. I recently completed the Cape2Rio race after completing the Cape - St.Helena race the year before. Now I keen to use platforms like these to afford me the opportunity to sail abroad. I have an SAS Coastal ticket and will be willing to make a financial contribution as being part of the crew.I'm flexible around the boat and will be willing to slot in anywhere. Looking forward to a favourable response and an awesome adventure.

Over the last year I've been racing in the IRC class in various races in Hong Kong (including the Waglan Series, Summer Series, Four Peaks and ATIR). Responsible for jib and spinnaker trim and helping out in the pit and on the mast and foredeck as needed. I grew up sailing dinghies and have extensive cruising experience from back home in New Zealand.  Looking to build offshore experience and join a boat for the Rolex China Sea Race to Philippines.  24 years old and I'm very happy to fill any gaps and fit into an existing crew where needed
